Adult Resources Center, Inc. Residential Services

 

Adult Resources Center, Inc. currently operates both Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA)and Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). Both IRA and ICF residences are certified by the Office of Persons with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).

We have four (4) IRAs located in and around the Canarsie, Flatlands, and Midwood sections of Brooklyn.

Residence #1 (A&B) – 1121 East 96th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11236

Residence #1 (A&B) is a mixed gender residence located in Canarsie with individual varied range of disabilities. Between Residence A/B we have a total of 24 individuals receiving services.

Residence #2 – 283 Conklin Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11236

Residence #2 is an all female residence located in Canarsie, this home varies in both age and level of disabilities. Residence #2 is certified for 10 individuals

Residence #3 – 1815 Avenue J, Brooklyn, NY 11230

Residence #3 is a mixed gender residence located in the Midwood section of Brooklyn. Residence #3 is certified for 10 individuals with varied range of disabilities

Residence #5 – 4820 Avenue K, Brooklyn, NY 11234

 

Residence #5 is a mixed gender residence located in the Flatlands section of Brooklyn, their certified for 14 individuals with varied range of disabilities.

These Residences are staffed based on the individual needs on a daily basis. Each home has staff available for emergencies 24 hours per day. Residents participate in meal preparation, chores and social activities. Most residents participate daily in some type of valued activity. This might include Day Hab., therapy, work, or education. Staff are available to provide training and support in the following habilitation areas:

  • Medication Management
  • Community Integration
  • Socialization
  • Daily Living Skills

 

Most residents in the IRA Program have a Medicaid Service Coordinator (MSC) MSC provides a vital link to information about service options. The service coordinator works with individuals and their families to develop a plan of care that assures individuals who are eligible for OPWDD services receive the assistance they need.

Residence #4 – 952 East 55th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11234

 

Residence #4 is our only Intermediate Care Facility, this program located in the Flatlands section of Brooklyn. Residence is certified for 10 individuals. The ICF program provides a range of services, which includes nursing care, psychological intervention, community integration, daily living skills and socialization.

Staff in the ICF is trained to provide active treatment services. Active Treatment refers to aggressive, consistent implementation of a program of specialized and generic training, treatment and health services.
